For many years, the July tree has been carefully tended by the owner of the homestead, Antanas Jankevičiaus. A storm broke off two large branches and opened a large wound in the trunk. The same year, the owner of the homestead died. The connection between the tree and the man and the similar fate is reminiscent of V. Krėve's short story "Slaughter", in which the protagonist Lapin, a slaughterer, dies when the lime tree of Grainis is felled.
