THEMES of cognitive /educational tours:

The tour takes place in the modern interactive exposition of the National Visitor Center. It is like a symbolic gateway to Lithuanian national and regional parks, sanctuaries and reserves. Together, we will "travel in the circle of nature"... You will find out how many protected areas there are in Lithuania, why they were established and what their exceptional value is. You will delve into the importance of nature reserves to preserve specific animal and plant species and habitats. You will learn to distinguish the voices of birds, get to know birds... You will find out who sleeps most of their life... Which plant eats insects... In which lake can amber be found... You will visit the "bat" movie theater and find out who lives at night... The quiz table will "answer" the questions asked , and touch screens will provide information about attractions in protected areas.

An educational session with a walk in the park of the Sapiegos Manor, learning to recognize the trees growing here (depending on the season and weather conditions). During the education, you will learn to get to know Lithuanian trees and the diversity of forests in Lithuania. You will get to know botanical and genetic reserves. You will find out in which regions the largest and densest Lithuanian forests are located and where the tallest and oldest Lithuanian trees grow.

During the education, you will get to know the exposition of the National Visitor Center and protected bird habitats, ornithological sanctuaries, and rare winged species. We will find out what special conditions are needed for birds and why do they have feathered clothes? We will learn the "basics of bird language" - to distinguish the voices of birds, to recognize the species of birds by the pattern of their feathers and much more.

The landscape we live in is like a woodpecker - the more variegated, the richer it is in terms of place names, natural and cultural heritage values, offerings. How was it formed and what are its components? What makes it special and why do we protect it? During education, we will find out and see how nature moves - the wind blows, where whirlwinds form, where raindrops meet and accumulate, how and where clouds form. We will find out which place in Lithuania is the lowest and the highest, we will find out where it rains the most and the least and we will find out why. Also, observing the eruption of the volcano, we will try to find out where there are the most volcanoes in the world and why we do not have volcanoes in Lithuania. We will learn why the tops of mountains and volcanoes are snowy and what is the difference between lava and magma. Creative task: during the activity, an interactive sandbox will be used, in which the participants of education will shape mountains and hills, plains, lakes, rivers and volcanoes with their own hands. In the sandbox, we will observe how lava rushes out of the volcano and create a real tornado, clouds and rain.
