Witch ash is the thickest ash in Lithuania. It grows in the park of Plateliai manor. Its trunk volume at a height of 1.3 is 7.3 m (according to 2016 measurement data, the trunk volume is 7.41 m), height is 32 m, and its age is more than 200 years. There are several legends about this unique tree. Some say the devil has compressed four ashes, and they have grown into one trunk. Others claim that the woman is tied with a scarf to three enchanted trees on which the birds have not landed. Those trees grew, and the scarf mark has left. The third explains that there is a loaf of bread stuck in an ash vest when a witch took it from a girl and smashed into ash after a rooster crowed. Others also claim that witches like this ash and gather here at night.
