Burial mounds located on both sides of the lake in Žingiai are reminiscent of the middle of the 1st millenium. In total, there are more than 180 burial mounds. They are from 4 to 15 m in diameter and up to 1.5 m high. During archaeological research, cremations of humans and the destructive burials of a horse with shroud were uncovered.
