The peninsula between Galvė and Skaistis lakes was first mentioned in historical sources in the 14th century. It was then called"Algirdas Island, later changed many owners. According to the project of the Polish architect, a historicist-style palace decorated with luxurious interiors in the style of Louis XVI with an impressive terrace with open pavilions was built on the shore of Lake Galvė. It opened up fabulous views of Lake Galvė of its islands and romantic castle ruins, the wooden city of Trakai, the towers of the church founded by Vytautas the Great and the Bražuolė hill starting at Kęstutis Hill.
