Ubagsalė is located in the northern part of Plateliai Lake, in the Plateliai Landscape Reserve, close to the shore. It is said that in the old days, beggars while returning from the indulgences of the Samogitian Calvary went to the island and feasted there. The area of the natural heritage object is 0.54 ha.
