This oak is an object of natural heritage—a real decoration of the forests of the Dūkšta Valley. It is the thickest oak in these areas (trunk diameter 1.57 m, trunk circumference: 4.95 m). The oak is about 300 years old. The oak grows in an area called Daubomis, located in the Dūkštas valley between Buivydai and Karmazinai mounds. According to archaeologists, the Karmazinai mound dates back to the 6th century and could have been used as a sanctuary. Many stories are told about Daubai area and Buivydai mound, in which the former temple and the place of pagan prayer are mentioned.
