Lydumo ragas was formed by the sand dune blowing into the water of the lagoon. There was so much sand that it lay all over the bottom and even rose to the surface. This formed a 600 m wide and almost 310 m long sandy peninsula overgrown with birches and willows. Impressive ornaments on its shores are created by Mergelis' compressed hubs.
