Located in a narrow strip between Lake Merguva and the gravel road winding through the arc of Ragainė, about 2 km from the holiday resort of the Bitėnai. From here, there is a perfect view to the old bed of Merguva, the meadow of the curve of Ragaine, and the town of Ragainė located across the Nemunas. It clearly shows a tall tower of a pulp factory, and you can see the ruins of a brick Ragainė castle built by crusaders in the early fifteenth century. By the thirteenth century, there was a wooden shale tribe castle here, on an old hill, followed by a wooden Crusaders castle. The lake of the Merguva stretched south of the village of Bitėnai, almost parallel to the Nemunas, and still connects to it at the northern end. Nemunas had once flown along the Šereiklaukis Forest, but as he rolled the loop he slowly drove toward Ragainė. Between the high-rise forest and the river bed, a flat, sandy plain was formed, full of elongated “eyes” of the old lake. Their biggest - Merguva.
