The beginning of the formation of the Old Believers in Lithuania - 1679. According to the Degučiai chronicle, the first emigrant of the Old Believers, Trofimas Ivanovas, settled here. The first known old people's houses of worship in the present territory of Lithuania were founded in 1710. In the village of Puščia (Girelė) (now Rokiškis district). From the village of Puščia in 1819. these houses of prayer were moved to the neighboring village of Bobriškis. During the reign of Tsar Nicholas I, the persecution of the Old Believers in Lithuania intensified. 19th c. At the beginning of the 19th century, all other churches in the region were closed, but the Bobriškis community (until 1819, Puščia) and its temple were not closed. Apparently, located far from the settlements on the peninsula of Lake Sartai, the temple did not attract the attention of Russian officials and synods of the synod church. Bobriškis became one of the most important religious centers in Northern Lithuania. The exact date of construction of the church is not clear, but it is known (based on memoirs and archival sources) that it already stood in the 19th century. in the middle. The church is characterized by the architecture of Baroque wooden churches in Northern Russia, as well as local construction traditions, which makes it one of the most interesting religious buildings in the Kriaunai area, which has a great historical and cultural value. 2007 September 27 Bobriškis Church has been declared a state protected and entered in the Register of Cultural Heritage. 2015–2019 Bobriškis Old Believers Church has been restored.
