The pine forest on the coast of Nemunas, near the heart of the village of Bitėnai, was home to a large community of white storks around 1970. Around 20 storks nests are twisted in pine trees and majority of them are occupied every year. Some storks nests are to hatch children, while others are used for parents rest when nests with children become tight.
