Ancient Bitėnai – Užbičiai Cemetery adhering to Rambynkelis, also known as the Pantheon of Little Lithuania, as it is not only the old residents who rest there. This is the place of the rest of the famous Little Lithuanian characters - the printout Martynas Jankus and some of his family members, writer, philosopher Vilius Storostas – Vydūnas, Tilžė Act signatories Jonas Vanagaitis, Valteris Didis, musicologist, one of the founders of the Lithuanian State Philharmonic Valteris – Kristupas Banaitis, Lithuanian artist Elena Grigolaitytė-Kondratavičienė, and many other. Without the possibility to physically bring back the remains or without knowing the exact location of the burial, some of those who deserve the history and culture of Little Lithuania are marked with symbolic signs: there is a monument to Kristijonas Donnelaitis, benches to Martin Mažvydas and Liudvikas Rėza, etc. These ancient national cemeteries were practically destroyed during the Soviet era. Revived for a new life at the beginning of the restoration of Lithuania's independence in 1991, in preparation for the reburial of the returned remains of Vydūnas from the German city of Detmold. This cemetery and separate graves of the leading public figures are included in the list of protected objects of cultural heritage. The project to clean up the cemetery was prepared by leading historians-landscapers Martynas and Marija Purvinai.
