Grave field is an ancient burial site where graves with archeological finds are found. These findings provide knowledge about the burial customs of the dead at that time and approach to the afterlife. Barinė cemetery is a cultural monument. A flat tomb is a pit usually dug for the burial of one person, in which a small heap of land is formed after burial. Over time, the heap flattens to the ground. In 1981-1982 the Barinė grave field was excavated by an archeological expedition of the Panevėžys Museum of Local Lore. It has been found that the dead with horses were buried in the northern part of the grave field in the 10th-12th centuries. In the southern part of the grave field the dead were buried in the 12th-15th centuries. The most typical finds are horseshoes-shaped and flat brooches, rings, glass and amber necklaces, iron knives, bridles, brass weights. The finds are stored in the Panevėžys Museum of Local Lore.
