The Žagariai Geomorphological Reserve has been established to protect the distinctive lateral morainic massif with large steep-sloped hills, the single street villages of Žagariai and Nakrūniškė with a set area of land allocated to each household (according to a land reform law dating back to the Great Lithuanian Duchy), their spatial composition and ethnographic architecture.
