Objectives of the establishment

The Trakas Botanical-Zoological Reserve has been established to protect the unique Sessile Oak community, the hilly southwest Lithuanian forests and wetlands flora (Linden, Hornbeam, Pine, Fir and Black Alder forests), herbaceous plant communities in transition mires, rare and endangered plant habitats and rare bird nesting grounds.
