Objectives of Establishment
The Nagliai Nature Reserve protects the unique natural complex of the Nagliai landscape area, including the prominent ridge of wind-blown hummocky (grey) dunes, the hummocks and wetlands at its base, the Agila and Lydumas promontories, the forested hilly coastal lowlands, the coastal protective dune ridge and stretches of sandy areas. It also safeguards habitats for plant and animal species listed in the Lithuanian Red Book, as well as habitats of European Community importance.
