Objectives of establishment

Girutiškis Nature Reserve protects the unique Girutiškis bog of thermokarst origin in Aukštaitija with the Biržalotas marsh, breeding grounds for cranes, eagles and one of the largest populations of dwarf birch  (Betula nana) jays.
