Establishment Objectives

The Garnių Hill Landscape Reserve protects areas of exceptional scientific value in the Juodkrantė surroundings, including parabolic dunes covered with old-growth forest, the prominent Avinkalnis cape (headland), coastal lowlands and wet meadow zones near the Curonian Lagoon. It is home to habitats of plant and animal species listed in the Red Book of Lithuania, as well as habitats of European Community importance.
