Objectives of Establishment

The Alksnynė Landscape Reserve aims to protect the natural complex of the Alksnynė landscape area, which includes the vegetated ridge-shaped Great Dune, the hilly and hollowed coastal lowlands, the forested seaside plain with dunes, the protective coastal dune ridge and sandy areas. It also protects habitats of plant and animal species listed in the Red Data Book of Lithuania, as well as habitats of European Community importance.
