Vėžalių stone, called Perkūnas, is one of the largest stones in Kurtuvėnai Regional Park. During the war, German soldiers tried to dig up the entire stone but most of it remained underground. The stone stands on the top of a high Perkūnkalnis hill, in Šilkalniai Geomorphological Reserve. People say that the Devil was hiding under the stone, and Perkūnas thundered and struck the stone split in half.
