The spring is on the left bank of the old river bed of Verknė, under the shade of black alder – a state-protected hydrogeological object of natural heritage. Its water has been used for drinking and domestic consumption by local residents since ancient times. When taken and stored for a long time, it does not sour. Old people tell us that the water from the source of Aukštadvaris, flowing “before the sun to the east” has healing powers. It is living water, described as bubbling, not freezing even in winter, meaning health and vital strength, helping to cure diseases, and especially healing eyes. Hydrotechnical indicators meet drinking water standards. The absolute height of the spring is 120 m above sea level. Source Debit 1 l/s.
