Ventė Cape is an ideal geographical place for catching and ringing birds. One of the largest bird migration routes stretches along the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. It is one of the most mysterious unexplained phenomena of nature that worries us. Every year in the spring and autumn, millions of birds fly over our country, traveling to or from their native lands. In September-October, there are often days when more than 3 million flights fly through the Lithuanian coast near Klaipeda. 70-80% of birds turn through the Curonian Spit and 20-30 percent continue their journey on the eastern shore of the Curonian Lagoon towards the Ventė Cape. Reaching the end of the promontory and seeing the wide waters of the lagoon, a large number of small birds return, landing on trees and bushes, trying to fly through the lagoon again.
