Prelomciškės mound it is situated on the western bank of Dusia Lake and is one of the largest in Meteliai Regional Park. The slopes are quite steep, up to 12 m high. The plateau on the top of it is 40 m wide. The northern slope of the hill-fort is surrounded by rivulet. A wooden castle used to stand on this hill. The slopes of it were made steeper, the top was fattened, and a rampart strengthened with stones, clay and a wall of logs was built on the edges of the plateau. In the past the castle used to be surrounded by a settlement. The findings of Yotvingian culture are found even now in the area of the former settlement. The hill-fort was used from the 1st millennium till the XIII century. The slopes and the top of the hill-fort were grazed over the first part of the last century. The cultural layer of the hill-fort is damaged. The top and the rampart were smoothed around 1960. Užnemunė region used to be protected by other wooden castles. Strengthened Rudamina, Kaukai, Bambininkai, Norkūnai, Radžiūnai and other hill-forts are witnesses of battles for survival.
