This is an interesting place from nature point of view – the confluence of Nemunas, father of Lithuanian rivers, and the tenth longest river Jūra, which begins in Žemaičiai Heights. Jūra is the right tributary to the Nemunas, which enters Nemunas 81 km from estuary. Since a long time ago, people have lived near this place and used rivers for transport and trade. From the confluence of the Nemunas and Jūra begins the Lower Nemunas. In the spring Jūra is very aqueous. At the estuary its shores are flat and the water spills into the meadows around it. Its name also comes from it - it becomes like the sea. From here, the Nemunas flooding stretch also begins. The hills near the Vilkyškės hills were always safe places for people to settle. This is evidenced by the archaeological complex near the confluence of Šereiklaukis - the settlement of Skalviai tribe - Sidabrakalnis, the forposte - Šereiklaukis mound with cemeteries and settlements, the Giant Cemetery and the Šereiklaukis mansion. Interesting place from geographical point of view, which has long been valued by people, can be viewed from the viewing platform in the village of Šereiklaukis.
