Temple of the Crosses in Staigūnai village
Michal Wisniowiecki, a hetman of Lithuanian army made a stop in this place with his army on the way to the war against Swedes in 1702. He prayed in front of Barūnai Mary picture painted on a tin plate here. Later on a blind soldier got back his sight at this place. Since then the place became visited very frequently and considered as a miraculous. The first chapel was built here in 1816. It was rebuilt in 1910 and destroyed in 1963. Now only foundations of it are left. The new Chapel of Crosses near by the foundations, which are believed to be saint, was consecrated in 2000.
