These stones have the name of stones with pointed bowls, Aukštaitija altars or house altars. There was serious interest in stones with pointed bowls around 1970. During that period, more forgotten historical monuments, as well as folklore realities were discovered. Unfortunately, the altars of the Aukštaitija were rather quickly forgotten even without revealing their secret., They were often buried or taken to stone quarries during reclamation. The altars of Aukštaitija are considered to be the ceremonial stones of homesteads (families) related to the cult of house gods. It is believed that the stones with pointed bowls are the cornerstones of the house, dedicated to the worship of two gods - the Žemyna and Pagirnis, whose altar was under the millstones standing in the corner of the house. Stones with bowls were placed in the corner of the foundation of the building during construction.
