4 ha Sokiškiai mound, also known as the Juodžemio Mountain. Sokiškiai mound is located on a separate hill on the western shore of Lake Samanis - on the edge of the cape. Sokiškiai mound site is oval, elongated, 68x56 m in size. The slopes are steep, 4-22 m high. There are 6 ha of mound settlements at the southern and southwestern, western and northwestern foothills of the Sokiškiai mound. The mound has been plowed for a long time. The upper part of the cultural layer was destroyed. Archaeological studies carried out by E. Grigalavičienė between 1980 and 1983 allowed the hill to be dated back to the last quarter of the 2nd thousand BC or the first half of the 4th period of the Brass Age - V a. During 1980-1983. After examining the 1115 m² mound and the territory of its settlement, a 180 cm thick cultural layer with various finds was discovered: stone axes and axes with a hole for a handle, slag, animal bones, lined, polished, rough ceramics, bone products, metal tools, knives, brass jewelry: bracelets, chains. Fragments of spears were also found.
