The manor had belonged to the Putvinskiai family for two centuries. The most prominent representatives of the family and the rulers of the estate were Vladas Putvinskis-Pūtvis, the founder of the Riflemen’s Union, and his son, Stasys Pūtvis, the Minister of Agriculture. The manor was the largest centre of transportation and distribution of Lithuanian press in Samogitia. Famous societal and cultural figures of the period were visiting the manor. To this day, there are remains of the manor barn, cottar quarters, and ponds.
