Senasis Dūkštas mound with a settlement in Dūkšteliai
2.8 ha mound site is round, 32 m in diameter. The slopes are steep, 13–15 m high. The mound is mentioned by the names of both Dūkštas and Senasis Dūkštas.
In 1909 Liudvikas Kšivickis examined the entire site of the mound. Examination of a 0.5 m thick cultural layer in a 6x3.5 m area revealed the remains of a semi-terrestrial type building with an open fireplace, various stone and bone products, spearheads, axes, hedgehogs, sharpeners, animal bones and molded striped pottery fragments.
Archaeological findings have shown that the hill was used in the 1st millennium A.D. In addition, it was found that 1 ha of Dūkšteliai, the southeastern and southwestern foothills of the Senasis Dūkštas mound contained the remains of the old settlement.
