The Salakas educational trail is a nearly 5 km long circular route representing the historic town of Salakas and its surroundings. Travel time - 2.30 hours. The arrows of the educational trail will accompany you through a wooden trail along the shore of Lake Luodis, towards the observation tower. From the tower you can admire the panorama of Lake Luodis, comfortably watch the water and forest birds. In the stands of the educational trail you will discover the history of Lake Luodis, get acquainted with the alluvial forest and its ecosystem, water and forest birds. Leaded by the arrows of the cognitive trail, you will visit the interesting Salak Tartars and the old town cemetery, the well-groomed Salak town center, the memorial museum of the first Salakas teacher A. Poderis, you will see the highest stone church of Saint Virgin Mary Sopulingoji in the country. You can start the journey from the Lake Luodis campsite, from the visitors' centre of the Gražutė Regional Park or from the second site of Luodis. To start the journey along the educational path from the Visitor's Centre, come to the address: Free Square 14, Salakas town, Zarasai district. If you start the journey from the Lake Luodis campsite, then you must arrive at the end of Lake Street (Salakas town). Starting your journey from the second Lake Lodge site, head to the end of Sakalas Street (Salakas town).
