The lime tree grows in the Red Castle Park, 50 m east of the castle. Trunk diameter at the height of 1.3 m is 1.82 m, trunk circumference: 5.70 m, height: 28 m. The tree is about 400 years old. At a height of 3 m a metal rod has ingrown to the trunk of the tree. Legend has it that during the serfdom, the offenders were tied to a metal rod in the lime tree and were beaten. 2018 July was chosen as the Lithuanian Tree of the Year
