The outcrop is unique with the exposed deposits of the Quaternary system of the Middle Nemunas. This is perhaps the only outcrop in the Baltic states of the 3rd warm-up of the last interpledial period of Mickūnai (35,000 years ago). The aim is to preserve the section of the Middle Nemunas glacigenic sediments, which shows the structure of the outcrop, the formation of glacial glacial deposits and the paleogeography of climate change in the region. In spring, the outcrop is often exposed to river processes, lateral erosion. Clay, silt, fine and tiny sand sediments are predominant. Microlayers of organic matter are often found in silt. Occasionally, pebbles, 1-2 cm in diameter, are also found in sedimentary material.
