On the Curonian Spit rises the Bear Head Dune, which reaches a height of just over 35 meters. From its summit, a stunning view opens up to both the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon, making it a popular spot for visitors to enjoy romantic sunsets or sunrises. The name "Bear Head Dune" was first mentioned in written sources in the late 19th century. Locals gave it this name because the dune's silhouette resembles the head of a bear. Nearby lies a hollow known as Meškaduobė (“Bear Pit”). At the top of the dune, there is a viewing platform that offers panoramic views of the water and the city of Klaipėda, and it is easily accessible by car.
