The well-exposed and very picturesque escarpment of Murmuliai is on the left bank of Nevėžis. The height of the escarpment is 9 m, the length along the riverbed is 60 m. The escarpment reveals a moraine brown-red loam left by the Baltic stage of the Nemunas (last glaciation) glacial period.
