The Maple pit is located in the Karajimiškis Landscape Reserve. The maple pit got its name because of the maples growing on the slopes. It is speculated that the sinkhole may have appeared more than 100 years ago (according to the age of the oldest trees growing in it). The contour of the pit is oval, diameter 23 x 27 m, depth - 6.7 m. The sinkhole is deepest at the eastern slope, the lower and middle parts of which reveal Devonian gypsum rocks, finely layered gypsum, dolomite.
