In 2016, a Bronze Age hillfort was discovered near the village of Kukuliškiai. Archaeological research found the remains of fortifications, a hearth, a large number of bones, various seeds used for food, and a large number of amber. Based on the information collected during archaeological research, the hillfort dates back to the 8th - 6th centuries BC. The fortifications were built on a very picturesque terrace formed by the mouths of the rivers during the Litorina Sea period. The Litorina Sea educational trail runs through the hillfort. In 2017, the Kukuliškiai hillfort was included in the Register of Cultural Heritage Values.
