Next to the village of Marcinkonys, between the blown sands, there is a small high bog (area 17 hectares) known as “Bear's bottom.” There is plenty of swamp moss on the surface of the high bog - "kiminai". They make up a continuous carpet here and are the main “creators” of the swamp. The pine trees in the high bog are small compared to the pine trees in the surrounding sands.
In the spring, a soft, cranberry blossoms bloom in the high bog. In the swamp, you can discover some of the most beautiful plants growing in the high wetlands - hare's-tail cottongrass, bog-rosemary, round-leaved sundew, bog bilberry.
