It is a unique escarpment revealing three geological layers. At the lower part, it exposes upper Devonian sandstone and Neogene quartz sand layers. It is the most important subsoil treasure of Anykščiai region. The 300 metres long and 27 metres high steep the right bank of the Šventoji River reveals a magnificent view. Here one will find stairs, paths, a viewing platform, quay, and two springs bursting from the ground. The Devonian, Neogene, and Quaternary-Prepleistocene and Pleistocene rock strata may be conveniently seen at the slope of the river. The detailed information about them is given in the Information stand. Daumantai Escarpment was announced a natural heritage in 2013.
