Black alder is 24 m high, trunk circumference: 2.90 m. The tree is about 150 years old. It grows near the Januliškis forest district building, on the roadside near the Peršokšna river bridge. The inhabitants of Januliškis village called the tree "Gumbulis" because of its thick tuberous branches, which are richly covered with moss.
