After the establishment of Kaunas Reservoir Regional Park in 1992, due to the unique juniper valley and the rich natural diversity of surrounding areas, Arlaviškės Botanical Reserve was singled out there. It has an area of 116.6 ha. A walkway to know the values of the reserve, the wooden part of which winds over the juniper grove. From the viewing grounds, there is a view not only of the juniper valley hanging on the slope, but also of the rolling “tail” of Kaunas Lagoon and the island of Dabinta that emerged there. Juniper Valley is the main focus of the Arlaviškės botanical reserve. In 2016, the trail was recognised as the most beautiful in Lithuania. The length of the trail is about 1.3 km. The 0.5 km path is a wooden part, and then the forest path leads to the lagoon and goes back to the juniper slope as it winds through the tree alley.
