This is the highest point of the Dead Dunes, reaching 59.8 meters. Beneath this dune, in the mid-19th century, the village of Nagliai (New Nagliai, Agila), located on the Curonian Lagoon shore, was buried. The residents dismantled their homes and relocated elsewhere, and the dune inherited the name Nagliai. Today, there is an observation deck along the nature trail here.
