It is the highest place of the Dead Dunes, which reaches 59.8 m. In the middle of the 19th century the village of Nagliai (Naujieji Nagliai, Agila) located on the shores of the Curonian Lagoon, was buried under this dune. The inhabitants moved elsewhere and the dune inherited the name Nagliai. Now here is a sightseeing trail.
