The parish center was relocated to Juodkrantė at the end of the 18th century from the village of Karvaičiai, which had been buried by sand. The brick Evangelical Lutheran church was built in 1884–1885, initiated by Juodkrantė’s pastor O. E. Richter. After World War II, the church was turned into a warehouse. In the 1970s, it was restored and its windows were decorated with stained glass. In 1989, the church was returned to the faithful.
